Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

your reading history. ( A list of books you've checked out.) Ours is now offering this and I can think of reasons to opt in, but I'm also a little leery of anyone keeping lists about me or my kids. However, I can see it coming in handy if I forget to write down some of the books we've read on a particular topic.

What would you do?

God Bless,

Anita

Boy, Anita, I can think of reasons not to, but I've often thought it would be helpful.

I only just thought of this as an option for myself, but our library gives a receipt of all the books out when you check out. If you had a place to keep those, you might be able to easily keep your own running tab for reference without sacrificing your privacy.

Well ours does that automatically I've never thought deeply about it, mmm.

Our library has recently hooked into technology and we can now reserve online and I can also log in and see my card history. Pretty handy when I am trying to remember just what history book we used for X topic. Like Lindsay we also receive a 'ticker tape' of books checked out, that's useful too, if you use it

We've had the online catalog for a while, but they just added the "history" option. In the disclosure, it does say that, if subpoenaed, they will provide the information. (Patriot Act allows this). I can't think of any reason anybody would subpoena my records, but lots of things have happened that I never thought I would see.

I was thinking that being able to go back and jog my memory about certain books would be helpful. Oh, and those receipts, I don't like them. I need less paper, not more .

Thanks for the input. More thinking to do.

Less paper option.. we can sign up for reminders by email for when books are due.. if you made a folder and a rule to move those to one location you'd have a record that way without paper.

Anita--I'm with you on the less paper! I have asked SEVERAL times for our library to stop automatically printing out a receipt when you check out.

JodieLyn...what a GREAT idea for keeping track of that info!

Yes, we use that, too and love the reminders. The email folder idea is a good one. I like it!! I think my email can "pre-sort" so to speak and automatically send them there, now. Thanks.
