Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I am just wondering if anyone understands the "science" of this, and also what you can tell me about how her hair is likely to continue growing.

So my 23-month-old doesn't really have "curly" hair -- it's not even all that wavy right out of her head. But around her neck it always curls up into these natural little ringlets. Very cute. I just don't understand how that works, though. Does the surface of her head function like some kind of iron and where there is space at her neck, some natural curliness is allowed to flourish?

And if her hair keeps growing, will the part that's below her head all be curly, or will it start to flatten out and only be ringlets at the very bottom? Or if it grows longer will all the curls just start to straighten out? Perhaps she will not have hair that is conducive to being allowed to grow very long.

Well to start with.. her hair will continue to change so how it is now is not how it will necessarily continue to be.

As far as how it will go on.. the weight of the hair may be what's keeping the curl down.. or it may be that there's not enough of a wave until a certain length for it to actively curl.

Mostly you'll just have to watch how it acts and respond accordingly.

I do have several children that their hair needs to be longer before you can see the curl really.. the 2 girls with that.. the longer it is the more curl (because there's more length) but the curls don't get tighter or anything. But both have straight bangs.. bangs aren't long enough to be curly on them. But it still looks very nice even long.. because it's a natural progression not the artificial one of curling up the ends to the base of the head. One has hair to her waist and the other about mid-back.

My hair is only curly if it is longer than a certain length and it can get quite curly depending on the weather.

I am a curly girl. My hair near my neck is very tight ringlets but the rest is less so. Don't know why.
