I offered to try to get this info for a homeschooling friend up here.

She and her husband have not vaccinated their youngest children because the only vaccines available from the only medical provider in our county are the ones that involve aborted fetal tissue. They're looking for a doctor who will give them information about vaccinating their girls for tetanus (using some weight-based calculation of the vaccine available for adult tetanus shots). They live on a farm and would really like to be able to vaccinate their children.

If anyone knows of a doctor who could provide this calculation for them, please let me know. (It would be great to know of a doctor who's willing to order vaccines from alternative sources, too, but the tetanus thing is most important.)

In our county, the only provider is a clinic that gets all vaccines from some state-funded source. They don't have purchasing accounts with providers of alternative vaccines. They aren't interested in accomodating this family. My friends have called doctors around our state and as far away as Charlottesville, VA (2 hours' drive) to no avail.

I'm not trying to take a stand either way on the vaccination issue...it's just that we're in an isolated area, and I'd like to help them find a way to resolve this issue. I figured this would be the best place to start!

I used Dr. Joseph Evers in McLean, VA, which is a bit of a drive for you. He is an elderly dr. and a dear man, I believe he is still practicing, last I heard. He will only use vaccines from moral sources and has written extensively on the issue. You could also go to One More Souls website for a list of NFP only dr.'s, they may also be of help to you. I think the website is www.omsoul.com, but you could do a Google search if I'm wrong. They have all sorts of doctors listed, not just ob's.
