Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

My son will be graduating from bootcamp at Parris Island in four weeks. I was wondering if any of you military moms, or South Carolina locals, had any advice or tips for traveling down there such as places to stay, must-see places for our time not with Charlie, cheap family restaurants, etc.

For Marine moms, can you tell me what to expect at family day and graduation? I am kind of worried about the whole thing, being pregnant and sick, and bringing all the kids. There is a run that kicks off the day at 7am. My family hasn't seen 7am in years! Especially not with a pregnant mom. I want to make sure we don't miss anything, but I need to make sure we are all taken care of. I expect it will be dreadfully hot, too.

I wonder how many other new Marines will have their seven siblings and pregnant mom there to cheer them on!

Molly...I don't have any info or advice to offer, but I will be watching this thread, AND waiting for an update from you once you return from your experience.

My oldest is headed off to bootcamp @ Pendleton in October, and will graduate roughly just after the first of the year. I know it is a different location, but I would value your perspective on the graduation celebration, etc.

The other new Marines will be jealous of all of Charlie's support! I'll keep you all in my prayers--the combination of heat, 7am, and pregnancy with all the other emotion, traveling etc, will be daunting, but you can do it!
