Why don't we all add our Bookmooch names so we can browse each other's books?
I'm Sandygirl on bookmooch.
I've been a member since the end of February, and I've mailed out nearly 400 books and gotten about the same back. I actively look for books wanted by others on bookmooch that are kids books as I can get them cheap at my local thrift shop {10/$1} and they are lightweight to ship.

I'm "Robin High" and I've been on Bookmooch for two days. I have 13 books going out and 2 coming in. 
I have about 170 on my wish list.

170 on the wish list is small - I've got around 1600. A lot of those are various versions of a single title - sometimes I have 20 different copies of the same book on my wish list so that I don't miss any copy that posts.

I have to say, I don't really understand their division of categories...I go to "short stories" and a lot of what I see is novels...I go to "children's" and I see a lot of NOT children's books?

Okay, I joined...I'm AZLori, but there's probably not much there on my list anybody here would be interested in...I guess it's much easier if you just do a search instead of by category?

I have been searching by book title and author for books that I have wanted for awhile, but just didn't have the budget to get. I used various homeschooling lists to compile my wish list. My wishlist at paperback swap is full! 
I am purging and listing other books as quickly as I can. Right now I am tappclan at bookmooch.

their category system really doesn't work - it is borrowed from Amazon and all the data for it is from them.
The best way I've found is to search Amazon for what you want, then use the bookmooch moochbar to easily mooch it at bookmooch.
I use the Amazon recommendations, browse them, then mooch as available.

One thing to watch out for at Bookmooch... if you have a wish list item come in, it is not just reserved for you. A message goes out to everyone who has that book on their list, and then the race is on. I have missed out on a couple of my wish list books now because someone else was faster.
That is both good and bad. You don't have to wait in line when you add a book to your wishlist, which is good if you are lucky and quick. OTOH, you might not ever get the book if a lot of people also want it.
At Paperback Swap you do have to wait your turn on line, but then once a wish list item arrives, it is held for you for several days.

You can use an RSS reader to help improve your odds of getting a wish listed item - I keep Google Reader open in a tab, and refresh it every hour or so which gets me quite a few that I never get the emails for.

Does it get overloaded on the server often? I was on the site and it started to get reallllllllllllly slow, and now it can't "load the page"...maybe more people on it at night? Has this ever happened to anyone else?
