OK... I was wondering... does anyone have some good Lenten 'fast' recipes?
I am not a fish eater... I just dont like the taste, and I was wondering what meals/ dishes you might have that you could share recipes with me
The only thing I have in my collection is a cheddar potato soup recipe... (I lost my recipes when the computer went down last year)

Rachel,
There are loads of good meatless recipes from this forum here.
I plan on making my Cuban beans and rice recipe that I posted there since I already know it's a winner in my house.
Happy recipe searching!

Frozen cheese pastas topped with butter are a hit here with the kids and very quick -- ravioli, tortellini, etc.

Thanks Gwen for this link. The recipes that were on the other thread tended toward southwestern food -- and I come to find out last night (after making the Southwest Corn and Tomato soup) that dh "doesn't care" for sw cooking !
The link to CatholicMom has some great variety -- lots of kid friendly sounding things too!

We eat meatless several times per week because it just works out that way. I am a former vegetarian and my eldest two are not big meat eaters (#3 is a different story, we call him our meaty boy ). My husband is far more into Italian than Southwest. He is not a fan of beans at all .
Our favorites are usually Italian with tomato and basil, such as Pasta Soon Soon or
Little Thimbles Sciue Sciue as Giada De Laurentiis calls it. (Our recipe was actually from Yankee Magazine and the only difference is we use penne pasta and no garlic.)
Another pasta favorite is Broccoli Sundried Tomato Fusilli.
Unfortunately, they both have cheese and we try to go easy on the dairy in our home.. but they are both really yummy. Only "meatyboy" would prefer fish to pasta. When 6 out of 7 enjoy something in our home, I call it a victory.. sigh.
Blessings,

Kristina... in my house it is my DH who is the problem...
He hates tomatoes... he doesn't like vegetables (unless they are beans)... he has a tendency to look at a plate and ask 'where is the meat?'!!
So needless to say, between his dislike of tomatoes (and pasta ) and my dislike of fish... meatless is pretty difficult!

Rachel, that is quite a problem! What came to mind reading your narrow list...how about white pizza? No tomato sauce involved!

Jenn, It only gets worse... he doesn't care for rice or cheese, and he doesn't like tuna or pizza!
Needless to say, when we got married, I had to learn a whole new style of cooking... basically everything was 'meat and potatoes with a side of corn or beans'!
I have managed to make him eat some rice... and cheese mixed into something else!
I swear, teh kids are less fussy than he is! In fact DS actually has a fit if we go out to eat... he wants to stay home and eat Mama's food
