Insta snow is a polymer that absorbs 100 times its weight in water. The Steve Spangler website says it was developed by movie makers to resemble real snow for the movies.

I also read that they use it for indoor snowboarding!   Wouldn't that make a beautiful ground cover for Christmas villages ...   From what I read, it can be dried out and used again.
