Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I'm trying to find something (anything) that a 28 week-along short, pudgy pregnant woman wouldn't be embarassed to be seen in at Mass. All the dresses I can find are so short, or sleeveless, or ... not my size. Motherhood only sells denim skirts in longer styles (except for the one skirt which doesn't come in my size. )

Help???

Buy a sleeveless, and wear a cardigan in coordinating color.

I had to work really really hard when I was pregnant with the twins to find anything to wear to Mass...I measured 42 wks at 34 wks along...you can imagine. And I'm 5'4". And I carry out front.

It was quite the sight, let me tell you.

But seriously, a sleevless or short sleeved dress with a cardigan over it.

elastic waisted skirts can be pulled up over the tummy.. and a pretty maternity top (plain white even) could finish it off nicely. Also consider that you could pull a skirt over your head if it won't come up over the tummy.

Angel, I'm right there with ya! I just bought this dress from Old navy. Ummmm, it's not perfect (too low cut) but i plan on placing a few stitches across the bosom to secure the material in place. What I love about it is that it is soft, comfortable and flowing and it has a bit of sleeve (but I probably will still wear something over it) The price was right, too. I just can't swallow spending a lot of money on a dress that i will only wear a few times, kwim?

HTH!

a tight fiting tank top underneath could look nice too. You could add a bit of color to it that way even.

I ended up getting a denim jumper that was jazzed up with some pretty floral buttons. The jumper is a larger size than what I regularly wear so it falls on me like a maternity jumper. A pretty pastel shirt with 3/4 sleeves and I think I am set.
People keep asking me when I am due...I don't have the heart to tell them it is at the END of the summer

Would the dress from Old Navy that's linked be suitable for nursing? Lizzie still nurses to sleep and for comfort and I am wondering if I could pull the front down enough.

Hmmmmm, I've never thought about using it for nursing . The front 2 criss-cross panels split apart, so nursing would be possible. I guess the rest just depends on your build! Might be worth a visit to Old navy to try it on.
