Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

not looking for a miracle or anything.. just a fairly reliable point and shoot that takes standard batteries and lasts for a reasonable amount of time (say 2+ yrs). Optical image stabilization would be nice.. and I'm thinking I'd be willing to trade megapixels for it to keep the cost down.

I got a Nikon that was on sale last year for $99. Can't remember the model #, I'll have to look for it -- I'll post again if I find it. The kids are happy enough with it, and my teen takes it to camping trips.

I always like Canon. I got a Canon Powershot for around $100 several months ago after my more expensive Canon died. I really liked my old one, but it had so many bells and whistles I never learned how to use, so I decided to try a cheaper model this time.

I also have a Nikon ~ got it on sale a couple of months ago, for about $100 +/-. Hated it, hated it, hated it. Took horrible, terrible, just dreadful pictures. I was going to return it to the store, with a fistful of "this camera is the worst", then took a moment, read the owners manual, made a couple minor adjustments (um, changed settings to "auto") , and viola. I love it, love it, love it.
