I was asked to be a confirmation sponsor to an almost 13 yog. Then we went away for a week and a weekend. Confirmation is next Saturday and I am still struggling to find just the right gift for this girl. She's a great reader, if that helps things, but she tends to read the first page and put it down if she doesn't like it. Her tastes are, I fear, very different than mine.
Also (and I'd love it if you'd chime in, Kathryn), I live in England (for 6 more weeks now), and as this country isn't a whole heap Catholic, I'm having a hard time finding a Catholic store. If I order online I most assuredly won't get it before Saturday!
Help?

Hi Tina,
My children received better quality rosaries for their Confirmation. If she is taking a saint's name, you may be able to find a saint rosary. This is the one 13yo dd received, although we purchased it locally.
Here's a nice rosary box following the saint theme. My dd received one like it for St. Anthony from his aunt.
We also found, believe it or not, watches with the face of St. Therese and St. Anthony on the faces of each! I tried to google and find them but didn't have any luck. Sorry, we purchased ours locally.
DD will also receive the St. Therese movie that just came out on DVD. They received medals and chaplets as well.
Oh...I meant to order stationary from Catholic Stationary but ran out of time . My friend raves about them and she called them to have an order rushed to her. They were very helpful. Hmmm...I'll need to get back to that for future gifts!
I bet many Catholic online service offer rush mailing service. Worth a try!
Love,

I've seen some truly beautiful jewelry with the dove of the HS on it.
When I'm not so bleary-eyed, I'll see what I can find.

A Bible or a copy of the Catechism? A Statuette? A subscription to a Catholic magazine?
For a girl a spa day or manicure/hair-do/facial (call a local day-spa and set it up as a gift for the day before so she will look beautiful for the special day), or retreat day for either boy or girl?
A gift certificate?

I'm giving my goddaughter a "Prove It" Bible and a crucifix with a dove on it for her Confirmation gifts.

I bought my dd12 a beautiful Bible for her Confirmation. It was the New American Bible, St Joseph's Edition, very pricey though so probably not what you want to buy for a child not your own. However dd loves it and I see her reading it every night.
