Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Any ideas? This is her first baby and she only has about three weeks before her due date but I'm sure bed rest is crummy no matter what.
ETA: she's in Texas so bringing a meal is out.

What would she love? Magazines, a good paperback book (or even the loan of a hardback), nice tea, hand lotion, soft bed socks... That's all I can think of right now. Bedrest is tedious, even if only for three more weeks...

Peace,
Nancy

If she knits some nice sock yarn maybe, pretty smelling lotion, something soft to 'sit' on, a special rosary, candles, dvd's.

Would she like a handcraft project to do for her baby? A sampler or a soft toy to make, something contained and do-able in bed?

When I was on bedrest last year a very special 4Real friend sent me a bar of Trish's Saintly Soaps and some lovely lotion. Whenever I took my shower, one of my few luxuries back then, I felt so pretty and NORMAL because of that luxurious soap. I had the St. Therese soap. ;)

Nail polish was also something that helped me feel normal. As much of a feat as it was to reach my toes at the time, I did it with great determination because pretty toes just made me feel......well, pretty!

Thanks for the ideas, ladies. She's not really crafty but she loves to read and not being able to look "normal and pretty" will probably be a downer for her. Those things will probably be welcome once the baby comes, too!

I was on bedrest for 8 weeks with my first. Books are good, but if she is restricted on being sitting up in bed (I was) get paperbacks (easier to hold.) Dh's office sent home their vcr (this was back in '88,) so I could watch videos. A dear friend would bring me bags of videos each week, as her dh worked for a video distributorship.

Bottles of water, a cooler, maybe her favorite granola bars or easy healthy snack might be good? My fave during those days was bran muffins.

God Bless,
Stacy in MI
