Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

It's really cheap this weekend because of the SuperBowl. They have the cooked, cleaned kind that are frozen so I'm going to stock up on Fri.

I have never cooked with shrimp. Do you coastal people (or anyone else) have favorite shrimp recipes?

Shrimp boil!! Potatoes, kielbasa, corn and shrimp boiled with crab boi seasoning (Old Bay, I think). Yummy!!! Put newspaper on the table, put the food in the middle and eat away. Throw away after you're done--no dishes!!

Well, I live in Michigan but we go to Florida every summer and we always get shrimp while we are there. We usually just do it "shrimp cocktail" style. I've always wanted to do a shrimp boil though. Maybe we'll try it next time. KC, I'm assuming you drain off all the water after boiling everything? This sounds like fun.

Yes!! It is and the cleanup is minimal. Perfect for days on the beach.

cold shrimp with cocktail sauce -- ketchup, lemon juice, prepared horseradish, worcestershire sauce, salt to taste

stir-fried shrimp with snow peas or other green veggies

shrimp tacos!

here's a cambodian recipe at aboutweblogs.com.

you can also do a shrimp bisque... use the shells in your base for color and deeper flavor.

ooh, and before i forget -- spicy shrimp curry in coconut milk.

Stef,
I would love more detail about your recipe for shrimp bisque. DH and I had it at a restaraunt once and loved it. Is it hard to make?

Me too. And would you also explain about fish sauce? Is it a fish tasting sauce or a sauce made for fish? The recipes are all yummy. Thanks everyone!
