I so enjoyed this thread: Would you think less of me.... it had me laughing for days.
So I thought maybe we could try a new one... along a little different lines, but one that I think would be very interesting.
One thing you never knew about me....
I was a serious soccer player for years, all the way through college.
What is one thing I never knew about you?

I'll play!
One thing you never knew about me is.....
I love, love, LOVE watching wrestling and mixed martial arts. My best Christmas present ever was tickets to an Iowa State wrestling meet. I loved every minute of it! Now I watch mixed martial arts whenever I get a chance.

I'm the daughter of a political leader from a small almost unheard of country and during the coup in the 70's we were spirited out of the country and re-established here under the witness protection program...
...just kidding
I'm having a hard time thinking of anything that would be interesting that I haven't already mentioned somewhere
How about you never knew:
... I was student body president of my high school.

Me, too!
Such a relief because I was wondering how I'd ever top the witness protection program thing

Okay, SeaStar, who'd you play for??? (My youngest sister played for Francis Marion out of SC back in 96-00--I almost played college, but decided to go to a school that didn't offer a team).
Hm..what do none of you know about me?
I met DH through a Dear Any Soldier letter during the first Gulf War (I was junior in high school, he was 25 ).

I'm SUCH a sucker, Mary! My jaw hit the keyboard with a clunk and then I sheepishly picked it up again as I continued to read!

I played in Oklahoma... long before I made it to SC.
Even after all this time, it doesn't feel like Thanksgiving week without a tournament, you know? I played left fullback.
Mary, you totally had me going, too!

At 10 years old I could beat up every boy in our "crossroads" from the age of 10 to 15--- My mom must have been so proud---
I also could be all my hubby's family at arm wrestling when we started dating--I am 5'2" and his smallest sister is 5'10" and his brothers are well over 6 feet but I was tough---that toughness is gone now, now I can't open the pickle jar, I need my 9 year old to do that!

Ditto, I immediately thought, oh my! I hope they don't find her here!
Big surprise, I was, like, a football cheerleader in high school. I still can't tell you the difference between defense and offense. My dad would sit in the bleachers and sign language me the "d" or the "o" so I knew which cheer to lead.

That is too funny, Maddie. I was the drum major for the marching band in high school which meant also leading the band for cheers and fights songs and stuff during the game. I didn't even really know I didn't know football until my first game when I totally failed to play our song at the first touchdown. My band director spent the rest of the game giving me a crash course.

Something you didn't know about me...
I played bass drum in a fife and drum corps for years and years. I almost joined the Army to play in the Old Guard but my asthma stopped me. We performed in some interesting places. I like to remember all of the naturalization ceremonies most. All the new citizens liked to have their pictures taken with the bass drummer. I think it's amusing to think of all the photo albums I'm in with people I never knew. They were all so excited to become citizens. And there I was, a high school kid, with a big drum strapped to me...only thinking about a soda!
And MaryM you had me too! And justartn the Dear Any Soldier is awesome! Love it!

Hmmm, let me think....
Got one, I learned to speak English by watching Sesame Street! I thought it was pretty cool that some one else spoke Spanish in America.
This is a cool thread, now off to clean my purse!

Hmmmm......I married a younger man! OK, got that off my chest. But my kids always tell us I look younger because I put "hightlights" in my hair.

I don't know if anyone knows this but...I was the student manager for the men's basketball team at Boston University for 3 1/2 years. I absolutely LOVED it! We were horrible but it was fun going up against big name teams like Duke.

I might have mentioned this. But it's hard to believe since my lifestyle is soooooooo different now, but I was a Theater Arts major in college.

One thing you don't know about me.....
I graduated my junior year in high school.
When I was a junior, my family moved to Hawaii for a year for work reasons, and since seniors in Hawaii only attend 3 classes, I took 3 classes correspondence and earned the needed credits to graduate.
I guess I started homeschooling before I had kids .

I played backup guitar for Ben Vereen and Jeff Goldblum...but only once.
And, wow, was it fun!
