Wow is right! I found it especially disturbing that one of the mothers in the article was bringing her 3 year old to the pediatrician for an ADHD diagnosis! 3!!! And she wanted a positive diagnosis! I have always heard that they can't even make that diagnosis till the child is 7.
Also, the following is particularly telling:
"Girl behavior becomes the gold standard," says "Raising Cain" coauthor Thompson. "Boys are treated like defective girls."
This is another reason I'm glad I homeschool, so I can give that individual fostering to my sons.
