Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

... start planning!

A wonderful Catholic homeschool mom (who, in spite of being on the "lecture and book circuit", still really does practice what she preaches), Maureen Wittmann has created online seminars for various subjects under a company called Homeschool Connections. Currently, Oct/Nov are set aside for learning about Catholic colleges and universities.

Here are the details:

Homeschool Connections is sponsoring a series of webinars presented by Catholic colleges and universities in October and November.

Catholic College Month at Homeschool Connections is here! Though the response has been so positive that Catholic College Month covers October and November. Homeschool Connections is offering a series of free webinars (online seminars) for parents and students Catholic higher education. The first event is on college financing and so is a good one to attend even if your children are young. Note that these webinars are for everyone, not just homeschoolers.

This is also a tremendous opportunity to meet first hand (electronically, at least) with key admissions officials at some of the great Catholic universities and colleges in the US, and it's FREE!

Click on the link above to hear/watch these amazing seminars -- all from the comfort of your desktop!

Please note that space is limited so register soon. These events are recorded and will be available to anyone who is unable to attend. You will be able to find links to those recordings within 48 hours of the live event at Homeschool Connections: Catholic College Month.

These should be great ... whether your student is an 11th grader or a 6th grader! Maureen really pulls out all the stops to make these online conferences workable. And, THEY ARE FREE ....
