I too am baby name hunting for a girl nonetheless...a big deal wih 5 boys and a 10 year old daughter who is still doing a happy dance. Our kids all have unique initials but all have a first name starting with 'J'. We would like to possible honor Mary (baby due on 12/12) with a middle name but already used 'm' for James Michael. It is not a hard and fast rule of course but if we could find an alternative that we would like it would be fun to keep he trend
Laura (41, joyfully pregnant with baby #7....still thinking maternity clothes are ugly:)

Some ideas (you might be able to tell I'm enjoying thinking about/researching this )...
Rosemary
Immaculata
Virginia
Concepcion ... Concepción is used mostly in Latin American countries to honor the Immaculate Conception and the Virgin Mary.
Soledad... (for Our Lady of Solitude) http://saints.sqpn.com/mary0024.htm
Socorro ... The name is given by Spanish-speaking Roman Catholics to honor one of the names given to the Virgin Mary (Our Lady of Perpetual Help)

We took this name: Annunziata and changed it to the Spanish version which sounds much softer: Annuncia ~ in honour of The Annunciation.

Rose could also be from one of her titles in the Litany of the BVM: Mystical ROSE. There's also "cause of our JOY".
Someone mentioned HOPE (Mary, our Hope) Other titles?
You could use one of her principal virtues like CHARITY.
I like FATIMA or GUADALUPE from her apparitions;
These names mean "Queen" according to nameberry.com:
Dione
Juno
Malka
Quanda
Queenie
Raina
Raine
Rani
Reggie
Regina
Reina
Rhiannon
Tiana

So, what about Lily or Lilian? I want to name a baby girl Lillian Marie or Lily Anne or something like that but my husband thinks saying "Lily" is an Our Lady name is kind of a stretch . . . What do you all think?

I don't think any of these Marian names are a stretch...if it can be tied to one of her symbols, titles, or litany names, I say it counts...
This has been fun to read. I didn't contribute anything, as everyone jumped right in with the ones I am familiar with. As you can see the Hispanic culture has so many variations on the Marian names.

Stella Maris--Star of the Sea....
If I could convince DH, I just might use it.
Doubtful, though. LOL

Oh--and we named our wee one we lost last fall, Ave Maria (Ava for the non-Catholic family members). But Ava Maria would also work...if you didn't mind another M in the middle, instead of on the beginning...

Mary Teresa--I always thought the lily symbolized Mary and ST. Joseph and am considering Lillian too!
