I know, I know--I could just read everyone's posts and say "hey! Look! There's one!"...but either I'm lazy, or figure it'd just be more fun to ask. LOL
We're in south-central OK--not many Catholics down here. Anybody close by???

We live in Fort Worth but my husband hunts near Ada, OK. Is that close to you?

Hi Rachel,
I'm in north central OK, near Ponca City. Sorry, not close by. And you're right about not many Catholics in our state and even fewer Catholic homeschoolers (at least in our area). There are 4 Catholic homeschooling families in our entire county.
Glad you asked because I was curious about others from OK too. Currently, I tend to just lurk and glean wonderful ideas from this forum. Maybe after I've homeschooled a few more years I'll feel I have more to contribute.
Anyway, welcome back.

Rachael, my family used to be Theresa's neighbor. We lived in Ponca City before we moved to Wales. Four Catholic homeschooling families now? Time for a park day!

That's 20 min from here.
My husband works there, for the city (Emergency Management Asst Director).
Where/with whom does your DH hunt with? We live--well, I'll tell you what--pm me.

I think that there are far more--they just aren't on this forum (there's a goodly number in OKC--I'm friends with a few--but they are, like I said, nearly 2 hrs away).
We have family in south-central KS--Kiowa (you Okies will have seen it on the border maps, likely), and Wichita. So we go by Ponca City when we go up there (rarely--none of them can put us up, and hotels for 7 are expensive  ). We almost bought a house in the Blackwell area (there was one pretty good thrift store in downtown Blackwell...makes me wanna take a drive just to go there, lol).

Oh, Theresa? I think we're now one of two Catholic hsers in our county. There is one the next county over.
(we're in the Ada co-op with the ones from our parish--but their oldest son is in high school, and the youngest is in 1st grade this year--and all of my get around and school dc are girls...  ).
So don't feel so lonely! You've got more to choose from!

Carole, thanks for the encouragement! Miss having you here! And you're right, I need to get a park day lined up.
Rachel, I'll stop feeling sorry for myself -- 4 families is more than 2 that's for sure! My 95 yr Grandma lives in Kiowa, if you've ever attended Kiowa's Catholic church in the past 30 yrs you would have seen her (always up front). Also, my family has gone on several field trips with the OKC St Gianna homeschoolers: OSU Vet Med school and the Shrine at Prague. I too wish the St. Gianna group were closer -- 2 hrs for us to travel as well.
Tracy, it's okay that you couldn't help connect homeschoolers here in OK, but I know you still feel connected. I feel the same way when I hear/read someone is from Kansas where I was raised.

Well, I still have a SIL living in Kiowa...
And my DHs family lived there since 1973ish...so your grandmother probably knew my ILs. She'd actually be 'of an age' with my FIL...he'd have been 87this year.
