Beautiful, Alice!
May I ask what kind of camera are you using for your pictures?

Wow, Karen, thank you *SO* much!
And thanks Amy, Meredith, and Jenn too.
Jenn, my camera, known around here as "Mom's new baby" is a slim and stream-lined Sony Cyber-Shot T7. It is great and takes short, but not too short, videos as well. Best of all, dh was able to pick ours up at Costco for less than the price you find in many other places.

Well the photographer and the camera are doing a great job. I love the pictures. I'm hoping maybe next year for a digital camera. Problem for me, I'm used to an SLR, and want that clarity with my pictures....next year the technology and prices might be at the right place!
Alice, are you doing FlyLady still? If so, would you say that having implemented this and being in the natural rhythm of the family now, that this allows you to do more things, like this blog!?

You know something? That is an excellent question. I always work on the blog after the children are in bed, so I'm not sure if I have more time because of Flylady or not. I remain the hugest Flylady fan in the world, although I haven't been following her routines for about a month.
I will say this though. The residual effects of my huge Flylady push of a couple of months ago remain. My kitchen is well organized, and I've learned to get rid of clutter immediately (or almost immediately) before it piles up on the counters. This saves me a tremendous amount of time and emotional strength. My front hall closet remains usable--instead of a pile of unnecessary junk, it is practically empty with hangers waiting for the coats of guests! This is a first for me. I so enjoyed the week after Christmas this year because the day after my six children were inundated with new toys, I went out and bought containers and organized everything so that it was not getting underfoot all week. As a result, I've enjoyed my Christmas tree and decorations so much more. Usually, by this time, I can't wait to get rid of the tree because it almost seems like a piece of clutter in itself. Right now, my tree looks beautiful because it is not surrounded by piles of miscellaneous toys. I've also learned to get rid of everything useless. Every single decoration or ornament that I didn't like enough to put up this year is going out the door. I used to save this stuff forever, leaving it packed year after year because it was either sentimental or because it didn't even occur to me to toss it. That was the old me. The new me can't wait to give it to charity!
As I say this, there is still much to do. My garage needs an overhaul and basement organization continues to elude me, but I now know *how* to handle these problems. I've been spending time here and there processing the basement instend of waiting for a big block of time that will never come.
Perhaps Flylady has given me the time to write the blogs--I'm not really sure. I am sure, however, that she has improved my home and taught me a good deal. My Christmas cards were out the first week of December (as opposed to the 23d), and my shopping began in early October (as opposed to the week before). Oh, and here's one more thing. Between Christmas and New Year's we hosted an enormous baby shower for my husband's sister. The house was bursting at the seams with about 50 guests. Even my husband commented on how easy it was to get the house in order for that event. The place was pretty much tidy and only needed some extra chairs and tables from the garage and some last minute vacuuming. I didn't even need to clean out my refrigerator! And that's just the residual effects of Flylady. Things were even better when I followed the system more carefully.
Never ask me a simple question--I'm the queen of longwinded answers these days!
