Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

What are you favorite candles and why?

For years I didn't use candles because some gave me a headache . Now I would like a good quality candle that can nicely/naturally? scent a room without overpowering.

Here's a past topic on scented candles...just not sure if a candle can do both - scent without overpowering? Thanks!

Love,

I really like the Partylite candles. They burn well, and at lower temps and smell great. The tealights do not overpower a room, but larger ones can. You probably have someone who sells these in your circle of friends.

Angie--My all-time favorite candles are Circle E candles...the scents are very true to how they are described, they smell heavenly throughout the house, but are not so perfumey that you can't stand them...I have had or smelled almost every scent so if you want more info about a particular one, just ask...Lemon Meringue Pie and Caribbean Breeze are my summer time favorites...and we're loving Baby Powder around here these days too!

I've not tried the Circle E candles, but I can attest to the Partylite ones - I love them! Some of their scents ARE stronger and I couldn't stand them when I was selling them - very overpowering - they were cologne scents so stay away from those ones if they still have them. Also, I found some people were more sensitive to the summer scents they had in collections - a bit of that strong soapy smell.

But their main line is GREAT. I love my honeydew 3-wick - I've had it for 9 years now, and I keep turning it upside down since they use real oils and over time, they can "fall" - but I've never burnt it and it still has just a light scent to it.

I third Partylite! Some of my most favorite light scents are from there.

Our close friends (Godparents to our children ) own a candle company. They are a wonderful Catholic homeschooling family.
