Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Ladies I just wanted to pop in and say a big Thank You for providing all the great Catholic community for each other .
I was just over at Molly's blog reading the quotes , looking at pics and so on .
I just felt I needed to come and tell you all maybe you don't quite get how wonderful this is for some of us .
Some may not know but I am a missionary for S.O.L.T and a member of the DJM and for whatever reason He has placed me to do his work mostly amongst pagan or more so secular peoples . I am hponoured He Trists me enough to do His work and that He must know and have confidence in me that my religion is never questioned I am always accepted for who I am .
This is where He has placed me and for the most part it is wonderful however at times the longing for other catholics is there and it is so hard for most of my catholic time is spent alone with Him and our children ;-) Our parish is very small mission parish and aside from catechsim there are no real other community programs .We have lost our secretary and funding etc. church is not even open most of the week .
I feel so so blessed when I visit your blogs and come here .It gives me my boost to go on and just keep being me the little catholic amongst pagans :-)
Thanks so so much Ladies , Much Love , Your Sister in Christ , Roxie

p.s. What do all the initials stand for, if you don't mind me asking? .. "Some may not know but I am a missionary for S.O.L.T and a member of the DJM"...

Roxie, you always have such a positive attitude and caring heart...we're blessed to be able to pray for your intentions.

I've lived overseas as the only Catholic homeschooler on a military base - happily, in a Catholic country, but one that doesn't really "get" homeschooling - so I think I understand a little of how you feel. Don't hesitate to ask for prayers when you're feeling stressed or lonely - the prayer warriors here are so amazing!

Roxie, I'm so glad you are encouraged by the forum. It is encouraging for all of us, I think, just to know there are others out there serving God as faithfully as they can in their various vocations. Thank you for answering His call to mission work, and we will certainly think of you from now on when we pray for missionaries. God bless you!

Sort of like a Catholic oasis! We are all cooling under the palms here!

Many thanks to you too Roxie, I think it so amazing to share our common loves and beliefs in a setting like this and at blogs, with women at the other ends of the earth...what would our distance in miles be I wonder? Only in this day and age have we been blessed in this global sharing of our faith the way we do and form friendships across the miles.

I could go for some cooling right about now ...its baking here in AZ!

I'm with you, Roxie! Although I'm blessed to have a large local Catholic community and group of Catholic friends, since our first foster children came to stay with us a month ago, I'm back to being isolated (self-chosen and out of need) so just knowing that this community is praying for me, and "holding my seat at the table" for when I'm able to return...goodness it makes a world of difference for me. Plus, the witness, example, and encouragement of many, many families here over the years has influenced me in so many ways...ways that help me to better fulfill God's desire for me...to be where I am today .

Thank you all - is right!

Love,
