WOOHOO! We were all jumping up and down, high fiving and shouting "Hooray!" last night when Kris Allen was announced as the winner. I admit I was shocked. I was sure Alan Lambert was going to win. What a happy surprise..well for us.

We were all cheering for Kris Allen here. I actually expected him to win. I have a theory of telling who will get get voted off, which amazes my kids. It is based on the previous week... so when Gokey got voted off, I figured people who vote would transfer their vote to a similar style of performer. If you liked Gokey, you probbaly liked Kris Allen better than Adam. We decided to call it the "Gokey Effect", even though I've been basing my predictions on this method for awhile.
Ok, so I have now revealed I let myself get waaaay too caught up in this show! Please don't think any less of me and don't worry about me, I really don't watch TV for the entire rest of the year, except for news!

I am so relieved. Adam's voice was like nails on a chalkboard to me. I never got how everyone liked him! BLECH!

However I am still bummed about DWTS. I really wanted Gilles or Melissa to win. Oh well, now you all know what I do in the evening as I fold laundry.

We didn't have TV for years and then when we moved three years ago we got cable just as the American Idol season was starting. I just wanted to watch to see what everyone was talking about. Well, I got hooked! I promise myself every year that I will not watch it but I do. I was a big Gokey fan and I agree with Chris that it was the Gokey effect that helped Kris win. I did make everyone leave for "Bikini Girl" and that "event" might actually help me keep my promise to myself of not watching next year!

We were hoping the Gokey Effect would help Kris win!!! I was disappointed in the show last night. We recorded it on the DVR, started watching it around 9, and fast forwarded through most of it. We started watching the AI finale the year Jordan Sparks won and I was impressed with how tame the show was. Ever since though the finales disappoint me.

My ds remarked today that he has been three of three for winners this week, first JT on Survivor, then Shawn on DWTS (but really what was her mom thinking letting her be on that show?????) and Kris last night. Now you all know our dirty secrets too!

I have put the kabash on DWTS though.
