Several years ago I bought MOTH (Managers of Their Homes). I took several days planning everything out and finally implemented it. We lasted *two days* and I decided it wasn't for us, it was just TOO RIGID. Or so I thought.

It's crunch time here as we prepare to leave for Italy on March 7. We are busy cleaning, cooking, packing, preparing the house, etc., and trying to continue lessons on top of all that, because of so much time off when I was pregnant... and I am SOOO STRESSED OUT I went out last night with a friend and 3 kids just to decompress (I never do that). So last night before bed I wrote out a schedule ala-MOTH and thought -- if we do this JUST ONE DAY we will at least be able to catch up on stuff and can breathe again the next few days.

Well guess what! Not only is it working, THE KIDS ARE LOVING IT. Now I know why MOTH didn't work for us years ago -- it just wasn't the right time in our lives.

Now that I've got the kids at the "right age" (17, 12, 10, 7 and 2 months), it's perfect for us.

So just wanted to share -- in case there are any of you who tried MOTH and decided it wasn't for you... it may just be wrong timing, and you can try again in a few years.

And I'm still not saying it will work for everyone at the "right ages of kids" -- but it certainly is saving my sanity right now.

PS I haven't been able to spend time on here much lately, but we continue to keep your intentions in our prayers!

I couldn't make it work either until I used my iCal to make out my schedule. It's just something about being able to move blocks around so easily and having reoccurring events pop up automatically. We finally have a schedule and I love it!
