I haven't been around much this winter but I wanted to drop in and announce that our little boy William Leon arrived on January 30. He arrived after only 45 minutes of labor. We'd planned a home birth but my midwife--who lives about ten minutes away--didn't make it in time and my husband caught William in our bathtub. Other than both of us getting a little too chilled (which was remedied with blankets and heating pads) there were no complications at all. My daughter was a fast labor (2.5 hours) and it was intense and scary and really beat me up so I always thought I never wanted another fast labor. But this one was so easy that I wouldn't mind doing it again--as long as I'm at home when I go into labor!

Oh Congrats Susan! I remember you telling me about your last labor - my own Margaret arrived in just under 2 hours and it was INTENSE!! I really think a 4 hour labor is perfect! I'm glad your labor went well - sounds very exciting! For some reason I can't access your blog - I'm sure he's adorable!
