Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Aagh - I cannot find any and it is our tradition to wrap up our Advent books in purple paper and put under the purple theme Advent tree.

Any ideas?

Worst case scenario I will have to do silver or gold.

Marilyn - I love using purple tissue paper! It's easy to find, and easy to unwrap for little hands.

The local Dollar Tree here has some very beautiful purple Christmas paper. But before I found it, I had given up and wrapped all the books in plain white, thinking I could add purple ribbon. So I bought the paper and used it to cut out shapes to place on the white paper. Turned out very pretty.

OOh - I had asked my husband to stop at a Dollar Store on his way back from errands - not sure if it is a dollar tree.

I like Melinda's idea then, Marilyn. I can find white and purple tissue at our local grocery store and dollar store at all times of the year. If not that, I've wrapped gifts in brown paper bags. It sounds funny, but it looks really nice if you take the time to decorate them a little. I like to illustrate on the paper once it's wrapped. You could do this with white, silver, gold or brown paper. Do you have some Advent/Christmas stamps? You can stamp right on the paper and color in. Or, I thought it might be neat to decorate each book package with the Jesse Tree/O Antiphon ornament for the night. We color new paper Jesse Tree ornaments each year just for fun. You could attach them to your wrapped package with the purple ribbon. That would be so enticing to the children I would think and tie the story in with the Jesse Tree readings for the day.

Gotta run - I'm anxious to hear what you decide to do!

Target has wrapping paper in solid colors, including purple. You will find it where they have the party supplies near the cards (if your Target is set up like ours).

Plain purple gift bags are an easy option to find too.

Im was going through a stack of old printouts from last advent When I stumbled across this idea.

We couldnt find purple either. But I have a bunch of white tissue and purple ribbon and it will look very nice.

We have done the brown paper for gifts too. It can look very elegant- think purple raffia and tiny pinecones or jingle bells .
