Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Sarah Palin just said on On the Record with Greta Van Sustern that she is no different than homeschooling moms who teach their kids all day in addition to accomplishing everything that needs to be done.

Well, I expect (but don't know for sure) that she MIGHT have some other help besides her dh, like a cleaning lady or something. Anyone know?

She's got to have paid help!

Oh, what I'd be able to accomplish if someone else did the cleaning and cooking!

she said in a recent talk (maybe her acceptance speech?) that much to her kid's disappointment, she "fired" the cook when she became Gov. of Alaska....

I AM sure that she has some kind of help, but then again, lots of moms on this list have help too, I recall a cleaning lady thread awhile back!!

Personally, I enjoy cooking and cleaing along side my children - I would want to pay anyone to do that!

ditto!! I have to admit, sometimes I get more enthusiastic about the "homekeeping" side of life in our home than what would officially fall under the category of "homeschooling" (unless it is curling up with lots of good books.... )

Well, I'm the kind of person who needs real PEACE to cook and clean in if I am going to enjoy it at all. BUT I am so lame and shy that I just know if I were ever so lucky as to have paid cleaning help I would wind up cleaning the place before she got here out of respect for her company! Ridiculous! I guess I never could let someone else enter my messy home and have them clean it! Unthinkable! No hope for me, I'm sure.

When I lived in Atlanta, I was working full time and only had 2 kids but did have a cleaning lady .... and I DID clean up before she came (so she could spend time on the really BAD stuff !)

Anyway, I don't mind the cooking but I am trying to teach my kids to clean ... and since Mrs. Palin's kids are a little older than mine, I'm sure she gets help from them ...

But, back to the topic .... I love that Mrs. Palin mentioned homeschool moms in a good light!

I really like cooking and cleaning, too...it's just that I don't have time for much of anything else! (Which is totally fine--b/c I'm not running for vice-president!)
