I'm running a few polls. If you followed the normal school system (starting at the expected age for school, not skipping or held back in grades), what age did you graduate from high school?
And if you answer, can you mention what month is your birthday?
I'm going to have another poll for college age, too.

I can't even vote in my own poll, because I took 2 years for my senior year. I was 19.

My birthday is Oct. 10 and I graduated at age 17. I was one of the youngest in my class.

So why didn't you add 19 to the poll - I know other 19 year graduates.

Because I already set it up, for one, and couldn't edit it. And two, in my dh's scenario, that wouldn't be typical.
He's convinced that graduating from high school at 17 or college at 21 is too young.

17 July birthday
Interesting thing.. in 3rd grade they wouldn't move me ahead because I was already the youngest in my class and they didn't want me to be too young to handle the social aspects.. but most of my friends through school were older than I was.. even the ones in the same grade were at least 6 months older.. and the majority were a year or more older and at least a grade ahead.

That is my husband. Seventeen when he started college. But just by a few weeks as he is a September birthday like your son. He doesn't feel it was too young.

I graduated at age 16, a year early, because I had a 7 mo old dd. I still managed to make fifth in the graduating class, though!

Regular old 18 for me w/ February birthday.
My dad graduated when he was 16 and started college at that age. His graduating class from HS had 4 people in it! That just blows my mind!

17 -- I was an October birthday.
I took a transition year before I went off to university, and have encouraged my children to do the same.
