Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Hi Families....

Just wanted to share with you what is happening with our Bishop here in Sacramento...

"Anti-Abortion Mother Got Teacher Ousted"

Really, the teacher got herself fired...

Anyway, I think our Bishop is doing a great job and just wanted to share!

Love and God Bless,

Bishop William K. Weigand's call to fire drama teacher Marie Bain in response to Sills' latest protest has raised concerns in some circles that anti-abortion activists at Loretto have too much pull with the Sacramento Diocese's top cleric.

I couldn't believe this from the article! How could pro-life people be considered to have "too much pull" with the Bishop???

Kudos to your bishop!!!!

Well, I figured I'd let you other "FOLKS WITH PULL" know about this problem in the event that you feel called to write a letter.

I'm not one to cause trouble...

Here's the blog of the young woman - the daughter of the woman who first reported the problem to the nuns at Loretto High School here in Sacramento.

Stand Up and Speak Out

She's taken alot of beating by fellow schoolmates and pro-aborts so if you feel so compelled perhaps drop her a line?

This is so amazing. It's wonderful that the bishop took a stand, but it is unbelievable that some would try to criticize what he's doing. This teacher is actually escorting women into the clinic --"a friendly face?" --and some feel that she should be allowed to continue to teach because she's not Catholic? Aargh--this whole line of thinking from the pro-aborts is frustrating, because it has NOTHING to do with being Catholic, and everything to do with being human.

Thanks for sharing this, it's great to see our leaders trying to support the teachings of the Church.

Expulsion from Loretto

Well folks, the daughter of the woman who ended up having to go to the Bishop on this matter has been expelled from Loretto High School.

The link above is to her blog...

Thanks for the update, Maria. The whole situation is just so difficult to comprehend. I pray that the Holy Spirit will guide the bishop in his handling of the matter.

Article on Expulsion from Sacramento Bee

Hi Families,

Please keep praying.

It is so sad. Last night on a radio program here they discussed this situation. I had a hard time listening because of the emotionalism vs. Catholicism...(not that I, French-Italian-Spanish-Irish-Scottish woman that I am never am emotional ) but it's sad because the girls who were calling in were not understanding the Church's teachings...They were more upset as to how the girl and her mother have disrupted their community....

So, who knows what will happen. Apparently the next course of action will have to be through the order itself according to the above-linked article.

Quote:
Bain's case wasn't the first time Wynette Sills injected her anti-abortion views into Loretto classrooms. The year before she objected to handouts from a classroom presentation on domestic violence that listed Planned Parenthood as a place women could find help, according to former Loretto teachers. The handout was later revised.
from the SacBee article

Injecting anti-abortion views into the classroom??? Shouldn't the pro-life viewpoint already be in a Catholic school classroom??? How very sad!!
