Anyone getting any sleep? Some of our favorite events are on after 11pm here on the East Coast. We are all so tired, we either walk around with bags under our eyes or fall asleep during the excitement of the event.
Loved the Opening Ceremony, but missed the lighting of the Olympic Torch.
What sports are you watching?
We loved the swimming. Michael Phelps...how.amazing! That 100Fly was incredible!
How 'bout them gymnasts? I sure hope Nastia does well on the beam tonight. I have to agree with Nadia Comaneci, I miss the perfect 10. This new scoring is so hard to understand.

Yep this sleep deprived person can't understand new scoring... or tie breakers.
I'm so sleep deprived that I've been having dreams that *I'm* in the Olympics. Last night I was doing the hurdles. I was amazing.

Everyone over 12 is tired here....I'm just sorry the swimming has been so late because the littles were always to bed...I did record some of Phelp's gold medal swims for ds8 and dd6 to watch the next morning.
We all pretended not to know who won, and then cheered together with the littles.

We've been falling asleep on couches and chairs, waking at 5 with the alarm.

I'm so tired...my kids have been sleeping all over couches and the living room floor, and last night we all got so giddy and silly because we were so tired...but we're having fun. I keep reminding myself that this is not forever...now to have a plan to get back to normal...

Aye! I hear ya. My husband has been up ALL night a few times. I was up at 3 am watching the US womens rowing (they took the gold - it was awesome!) Yes, too late.

A friend of mine is very pregnant and at the no-sleep stage... and I told her: "Well, at least there's something to watch on TV at 2 am!!"

Olympic junkies here! Swimming was awesome. Gymnastics has been painful to watch with the tiny Chinese girls who can't possibly be 16 years old and the bad scoring. We have been watching some of the competitions online like the equestrian team jumping and cross country.

We are in between China time and US time, which means that the Olympic day starts in the very small hours - 2 or 3am, I think. I am not an early bird, so am just catching up in the morning.
Gymnastics is a biggie with my girls so we have watched a lot of that. Some swimming, but the timing was bad. I've got hooked on the cycling, because the British cycling team is spectacularly good . And I always enjoy watching the athletics.

I'm with you here, but I must add that Nastia sure took it with maturity last night. I'm not sure I would have been so gracious as she was standing on that podium, and I'm a LOT older than she is

I have been letting the older kids stay up and watch and we're all really tired. But I figure, it comes along once every 4 years, so we'd better catch while we can. And there was no discussion about watching swimming, that was a once in a lifetime opportunity to see someone that great. My oldest think he wants to try eating Michael's diet! I can't wait for that!
Blessings,
Betsie

Glad to hear I am in good company allowing my children to stay up and watch!
As an aside... anyone else offended by the outfits worn by the women's beach volleyball teams?

Not just volleyball! Pole vaulting last night was pretty racy - even some of the running events!

The marathon was really bad, too. We took to pointing out the women wearing shorts.
