It took me years to grow out my hair out to a long length but it is so thick and hot and it was getting dry and just plain unhealthy. Today my daughter and I had a girls day out and we got our hair cut. I was a little worried while I sat in the chair and saw all that length come off.
But a couple of hours later and I'm over the shock and I love it! It is chin length in the front and then stacked in the back. The sides have some layers to help give it some volumne. I feel so young, lol. I have a style! Not just long hair.

My daughters (8&6) and I donated our hair a couple of weeks ago. Ten inches each! I'm actually wondering about the measuring skills of the girl that did mine. I had a TON of hair and now it is chin length. My daughters have it to the shoulders.
But, it is light and fresh. I even have some wispy bangs that I haven't had in 18 years!

Congrats, Theresa! It's funny, the missing hair gives me a little glimpse of what amputees feel. I'm brushing or washing my hair and reach for lengths that aren't there. I keep hitting myself with the brush for a few days!
I generally go back and forth on medium length to short (I think my dh has seen it all). I chopped my hair after the baby was born, and have had no regrets.

Oh, I'm just so happy for you, Theresa! That is such a lifting feeling!
Right now, I'm wishing my hair would quit falling out long enough so that I could get a trim. I'd like to grow it out. I'm so indecisive! I wish someone would just say, "this is the best length and cut for you - and I recognize that you're not going to use handfuls of hair care products on your hair as you would likely confuse it with diaper ointment anyway (don't ask me about that hair day )!"

I got many nice comments at churuch tonight. Most of them included something about my looking younger. That's always nice to hear. I am still really happy with the cut. Very easy to care for.
Thanks for sharing in my excitement. If I can figure out how to make my picture smaller I will try to post one on my blog sometime this week.
