Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

A spinoff from the morning routine thread.

Can you share what chores your children do and what kind of system you use?

My kids are turning 6yo and 7yo pretty soon. Right now, we're staying with my parents but will be moving to our new house in Sept. I'm thinking of what kind of chores they can do and how to make sure they get done.

Oh, and do you give a weekly allowance for this? Lately, my mom and dad have been giving them money for various things. So now I think they'll be expecting money.

TIA!

Hi there, I just thought I would mention that someone just started a thread like this in the Loom, Larder room and there are several responses so far!

My 3 older girls rotate on a weekly basis between kitchen, laundry & pick up.

Kitchen has to unload the dishwasher, clean off the table & counters, help in the kitchen & sweep the kitchen & dinning room.

Laundry has to gather all the dirty laundry, put away the folded laundry & clean the laundry room.

Pick up has to pick up the house & put the items where they belong & sweep the living room.

These are not paid positions    A paid job is taking out all the trash in the house, cleaning out the cars, including washing the windows & anything else that is above the normal chores.

These rotations are for my 10,8,6 yo girls. Our boy is 4 & will be added to the rotation at 5. We will probably add trash at that point to the rotation, so no longer a paid job.
