Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Yes more car questions.

Does anyone have a hybrid? Anyone else doing research on buying a hybrid?

If you have one.....what do you think??? If you decided not to get one, why not? If you are researching one....where are you getting your info??

Thanks!

Would love to get one, but it should at least be able to fit 7. AND be affordable. If anyone has suggestions, I'm all ears too!!

Just starting to look seriously Mary Chris. We haven't done a lot of research yet. It would be the second car - my dh's for driving to work. I like the Saturn SUV hybrid - but I don't know anything about it!!! It may not get nearly the mileage a small hybrid car would get. My husband is tall, so the small cars concern us. But...we're just at the beginning of looking into things.

Watching your thread to see what others say!

Hybrid SUV

This came up in my google search. I'm looking at the Saturn Vue also, but I think I will go check out the Ford Escape and Toyota Highlander. This is going to be my primary car. I just don't know if we should be "cutting edge"..a little late or wait until the technology improves.

Stef....it looks like Honda has a Hybrid van in Japan.....hopefully it will come here soon.

My dh has a 2004 Civic Hybrid. It was a must-have with his long commute. He's had it just over a year and, so far, so good!

It gets anywhere from 46-52mpg! I like driving it, although it is small. It seems to be just as reliable as a regular Honda. I wished they'd make a big van!

I was talking to Mom about hybrids the other day, and she had a good point. Grandpa had a Geo Metro years ago that got 50mph. When was the last time you saw a Geo? Where'd they go? If you can find one today it'd be a great deal.

ETA: A Geo Metro is not a hybrid but just a normal old car that got great gas mileage. Why can't we make cars today that get as good of gas mileage as that?

My parents have a Toyota Highlander Hybrid that seats 7, and they really like it. The back seat (2 seater bench) does not have very much leg room and would work best for preschool/ elementary age kids.

My sil has a Prius and really likes it, too.
