Just catching up on announcement threads! -- Molly, this is to be your seventh, right? Many blessings and I hope you get over that morning sickness soon.... I always felt like I spent that first trimester walking through molasses -- ugh

Thanks Everyone! Yes this is my seventh and so far the hardest. I am not only quite nauseous (with the occasional mad dash to the bathroom ) but I am quite light-headed and dizzy as well.
I know this part will pass and I can get on to the fun part of pregnancy, but boy oh boy! Speaking of boys, I seem to remember that my two boys made me sicker than the four girls so we are thinking boy around here. Of course, that is what they are all hoping for, I just hate to disappoint!
I am sure that when I finally get to settle into our new house in another month things will fall into place.
I am just so grateful for all of my blessings. To be able to pick and choose what I want to eat, to have a comfortable couch to lie on when I am miserable, and the support of a loving family. I can't help thinking of the pregnant women and new mothers who suffered through Katrina and even now have no place to call home.
May I never forget to be grateful!

Strangely enough, eating ginger biscuits helped with my morning sickness ( I have been sick through all my pregnancies!).
Hope you get better soon.

Thanks for the tip, Leonie. I find one of the hardest parts of each new pregnancy is figuring out what helps and what doesn't, it is different with each baby. My last pregnancy I actually had an aversion to sweets! What torture! LOL! I am seeming to be leaning that way again, although I am craving caramel.
I just asked my husband to pick up some chili at the store so I can try eating chili dogs. For some reason, I found that I loved these at the beginning of my last pregnancy even though I hadn't had one in years. So I will give those a try.
Smells are giving me a hard time with this pregnancy as well, so pasta is out unless I can make a very bland sauce. My poor husband. Of course, he is just hoping for the day when I start cooking again.

Congratulations, Molly!! I'm so happy for you and your family. I'm with Leonie on the ginger snaps. Although, with my second, I had to eat scrambled eggs and a buttered bagel every day for months!! I hope you feel better soon. Congrats!!

I can't tell you how many ginger products we have in the house right now!! Dh bought a bunch and some were passed along to us (drops, tea, etc.). Imagine how disappointed Dh was when I balked at all of it!! I think he thought it would "cure" me and I'd get back to my original self....... Just the smell of the tea...ugh...oh, well! I think I am about a week away from feeling somewhat normal again - please, dear Lord!!!
Congratulations, Molly!!!! Number 7! That is fantastic! I'll pray that your morning sickness goes away soon. I know everyone is so different, but I found out the hard way after eating turkey/deli style sandwiches a few days in a row (they did taste good at the time!) that I got these very intense headaches - I think it was the nitrates. I've completely avoided nitrates and never got another headache. I also have had an aversion to sweets. I think I've lost about 10 pounds because of it! I mostly eat all carbs and a little cheese, eggs, or fruit. I am looking forward to a huge salad and vegetables!!!! O.K. this talk of food can't be good for the sick moms, including myslef!!! Sorry!
God bless you and all the pregnant, first-trimester Moms suffering at this time!!!

Just catching up with everyone after being away for a while. Congratulations, Molly! How exciting (and how nice that the housing headaches are pretty much over now that you're not feeling well). We're praying for minimal morning sickness for you. Dh and kids enjoyed eating out so much when I couldn't stomach cooking, but I'd much rather work in the kitchen then lounge on the couch!

Molly, such great news! Congratulations! I'm praying for you (and a quick end to the dizzy part...I had that with my last pregnancy, ugh).
Hugs!

Congratulations, Molly, and good health to you both!
When I was very sick with Emmy (I lost almost 15 lbs), my midwife suggested extra vitamin B-6 every day--only one tablet, 50 mg extra--and that cleared up the nausea and vertigo in no time!
This was after I tried ginger, crackers with butter and pepper, and every homeopathic remedy known to man
HTH and God bless all you pregnant moms,
Caryn
