Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

The packers were here Tues and Weds. Today they are at our storage units, packing and loading the truck. Tomorrow they will come here and load the truck with the stuff here. Yeah. This is going to be ugly. The smallest bedroom is completely filled with boxes. The dc's bedroom is about 1/4 filled...the master is ringed with them to the ceiling...and there are some in the dining room...and the carport.

Yeah. We're in here til it warms up and then the girls are getting sent outside. They sooo don't need to be in here. I am just glad we really only have one day to deal with all of this and all of the dc...a friend of mine kept them Tues/Weds, so we just had the boys to deal with (which was hard enough!).

Please pray that the loading goes well today and everything gets packed well (don't need stuff getting broken in transit, if we can avoid it!).

We leave here in just over 2 weeks, and we still haven't closed on the house--we were supposed to close on it the 6th. But with one thing and another, we're looking at it all being done this coming Monday....

If ya'll can add to the "please don't let things break" prayers, the "please let the closing go smoothly" prayers, I'd appreciate it.

Rachel

It sounds like you've done a great job packing, Rachel, especially with almost 1 year old twins!

I'll be thinking and praying for you!

Congratulations, Rachel! The hardest part is unpacking it all! Good luck and I hope that you enjoy your new home in Oklahoma ... we so loved it there and spent 17 happy years there! Keep us posted on your progress and we will pray for you in your new home!

We're moving to OK--about 1 1/2 hr south of OKC. 10 acres and 3400 sq ft--quite a step up from the 1100 sq ft on 1/4 acre....

And the movers/packers did really well today! They got the storage units packed *and* loaded and then came to the house and have it about 1/3d of the way packed. So tomorrow should go fairly quickly.

Unfortunately, we're going to have to try and sell our (antique) piano before we leave here, to try and save the weight....books, or a piano...books, or a piano...500-800 lbs is still 500-800 lbs...sigh. Please pray it sells soon (I listed it on craigslist).

Anyway, the closing is still going slooowlllyyy... the underwriters "okayed" it, and tomorrow the closing on the OK end will start--they will overnight the papers to us, and then we will get them/get them notarized and overnight them back to OK to finish it all up. Don't know whether it will all be finished Monday or Tuesday, but we'll get it done.

We're supposed to be leaving for OK two weeks from tomorrow, which will be very very strange...we've lived in this house for a little more than 11 1/2 yrs (a really long time for a military family). So its been our home since the early days of our marriage, and thru the pregnancies/births/infancies of all of our dc. It will be hard to leave, in a way...the finality is...hard.... But it will be great on the other end, too. A lot more space (and less stress for me, since visual chaos is a big stresser for me, and everything and everyone being crammed into such a small space really is hard on me...

The unpacking will be done slowly--I'm giving myself a minimum daily box "opening" limit. I set it low enough so that it is attainable, but not so low that it will take me the rest of my life to get it done, iykwim.

Thanks for all of the prayers, ladies...

Rachel

I can't believe they are almost 1! So much has happened to you in that time period, first you had all the stress of dh deploying just after you had the twins, then you had to come with lots of littlies on your own, then dh was hurt and came back, then a new lifestyle for you all and now a new home and state!!!! All in one year, unbelievable.

What are you going to do in the interim 2 weeks?

Your new place sounds so wonderful, do show pictures

Praying for you.

That's what I was thinking Erin!!! What an adventure for you Rachel! A wonderful and exciting one. I'm so happy that your family is moving to this wonderful, large home. Of course you have our prayers for a safe and joyful move, one that supplies your precious family with adventures, excitement, togetherness and joy!!! Can't wait to see more pics! I looked at the link you put up to the house when it was for sale - it looks soooo promising!

I'll post some pics after we get everything painted, lol.

Its actually in move-in condition, so we'll not *have* to paint, but we'll have to paint to make *me* happy. LOL. Get it the colors I want, lol. I know, you ladies kwim. LOL. Get it to look the way I want, before we move the bigger/heavier furniture in.

Anyway, prayers for the sale of my piano would be MUCH appreciated.

The movers were done and gone well before noon. We got lots done. The boys were able to really get down and crawl around for the first time all week (what with the boxes and the debris and such, I just didn't want them on the floor--they are at that "try and put it into my mouth" beginning stage...

We're basically going to finishing up everything around here--I have to redo my pap this next week (sorry for the TMI, lol)--they didn't get an adequate sample in Dec, and then have my dental cleaning the 26th (my bday). Trying to tie up my loose ends before we leave (and before we get off of the active-duty insurance and onto DHs new job insurance/retired military insurance--ya'll kwim). The dc already have had their physicals and their cleanings done in the past few weeks. So it leaves me and DH to get taken care of...

We had our unofficial-official spring break this week. We'll be schooling lite this next week, and the week after, then we will be doing another break while we are moving out there...and then schooling really lite til we get settled a bit...

Have I mentioned that I love hsing?????

LOL

Rachel
