Thanks to the Kate and John Plus 8 thread we took a trip to IKEA last night . Just a heads up that Expedit book case is huge. We really should have taken all the seats out of our van, but we took the boys. It is always comial when we try to pack the car after shopping at IKEA......but the Legos will be sorted and stored!
So what are your favorite storage products from IKEA?

I have two of these tables and I think they make great toy storage. We put baskets in the small cubbies for small toys. Larger toys go on the bottom shelf and other toys or more baskets can go on top. They are a good depth for little people to access and a good height for standing and playing. And they look nice everywhere. They can be turned into a living room side table or dissertation staging area (as in our house). I was going to get a couple more last fall but the price just doubled! Aarrgh! I always check the AS-IS room for damaged ones. That way they'd even match the ones I already have.

We have IKEA Billy bookcases and desks in our school room. My three girls share a room and I have some cute, white dressers and a bookcase with scalloped edges in there. I put some pink, vintage looking knobs on the items in the girls' room and they are adorable.

I have Billy bookcases too. If you know the specific pieces you're looking for, I'd recommend searching Craigslist. I picked up a tall Billy case, with doors and CD holder, for $40!! We needed an additional case after moving a couple of years ago.

Woo Hoo, Mary Chris. We need one of those ... no, two. One for Playmobil and one for Lego. I have a trip (not exactly sure when) planned with a couple of homeschool moms for a day at IKEA. Just the moms. I'm ecstatic!

I'd love to see pictures of these organizers put into action. Can you share, please? I have problems visualizing and putting together a plan when I see it in IKEA catalog or online.

I have these in my kitchen with doors on the bottom to store all of our homeschool books, puzzles, crafts, etc. They were expensive -- but have been awesome.

I use the big Expedit bookcase for our homeschooling books. I have no camera now, so no picture. But, I bought large wicker baskets from Ikea for the bottom four cubbies and the kids keep their personal books in there (workbooks, notebooks, etc.). The other 12 cubbies are labeled by subject and we keep our books organized in that way.
The shelves are nice and deep, as well as tall and wide. (12x12x12?) I don't have any problems fitting tall books on any of the shelves. And it is very sturdy. Looks nice, too!
