Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I just read a beautiful post by Cay Gibson over at Cajun Cottage Under the Oaks. I think it is particularly appropriate during this Christmas season when I can feel squeezed and the "victims" of those stressed feelings are those that I love the most on God's green earth - my husband and children. Cay asks the question, "Do I treat my family as lovingly and kindly as I would a stranger on the street?". Good question, Cay! I need to take these feelings of conviction and turn them into action!!!

I encourage you to check it out!!!

Heather, thanks for referring me to Cay's beautiful post. It's a timely gift...and I need to extend this examination of conscience to my extended family relationships, too.
