Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

My son and I want to make some nice cookies as gifts, using our pretty cookie cutters, but the only recipes I have for cut out cookies are really plain children's sugar cookies. meant to be slathered in icing.

I'd like a nice recipe, that would be interesting enough to eat without icing, and that would work as a cut out cookie.

Does anyone have a recipe they could share? Please!

We usually use a short bread cookie recipe, with powdered sugar, butter, vanilla and some salt. It works well for rolling out and cookie cutters and it is very tasty!

I will pull out the recipe and post it later today.

a gingerbread cookie can be very good for cut out cookies.. lots more flavor than just plain sugar cookies.. though I like a touch of frosting on the gingerbread too.. but more like a bit of piping around the edge than slathered.. but they're good plain too.
