God is so good!
On Friday, August 26 at 9:28 am,
Maria Theresa was born!
She weighed 8 lbs. 5 oz. and is 20 “ long.
At my ultrasound appt. on Thursday it looked like the baby had not grown much, with that and the GBS/fast labors/distance from the hospital we decided to induce and went over to the hospital.
We got the antibiotics in and started the pitocin. Had good contrax all night but never dialated past 3 cm. In the morning we did the epidural and broke my water. I went from 3 to 10 in about an hour. I told the nurse I thought I should be checked. She assured me that it was too soon, but humored me anyways.
She checked, gasped, said those always popular words, “Don't push, don't even sneeze, the baby is right there!”
The doctor rushed in, said I could push on the next contrax. Two pushes and she was born. The doctor laughed and said, “Maybe now we could turn on the lights, break down the bed and use some of the lovely tools the tech is still setting up for delivery.”
Kevin and I were so prepared for a baby with a problem, or least a small baby, we were astonished to see this apparently healthy, pink, chubette lying on me. Her apgars were 9 and 9.
We know we had some powerful prayer warriors praying for the health of this baby. We are so grateful. I am convinced that a miracle may have happened here.

WOW!!! Deo Gratias! Thanks for giving us an update, Bridget and sharing the beautiful pictures. Snuggle with that little one and just take it easy and bond and nurse and sleep!

Oh Bridget, I am in tears. It is like a beautiful story. It has made my day! Your faith and trust were surely blessed wonderfully. Thank you so much for the link to the pictures, she is precious and so is her family....congrats! How wonderful God is!

A related story about Maria's birth. We delivered at a Catholic hospital with a chapel. Kevin took the kids to pray prayers of thanksgiving for Maria's health in front of the Blessed Sacrament. As they were leaving, an older woman who was there asked him if they were all his. He said yes and they had just come from visiting their mom and the newest baby. She said she had 11 children and 56 grandchildren, she loves to see big families.
Kevin called to Blaise, (5), who was lingering, to come along. The lady exclaimed, “Oh, I had a Blaise, he died as a child!” Her eyes filled with tears and she hugged our Blaise. He is a friendly child and was happy to hug her back. She wanted him to have her rosary she had been praying with. He was thrilled and told her he would pray for her with it.
We can see the hand of God in so many ways connected to this birth and the worries that preceded it. We may never see how the dots connect, but we know God is an awesome God!

So Beautiful! I felt your anxiety about her birth and am so glad that she is healthy! And she was born on a feast of her namesake!
