Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

We have several of these & our little ones have always chewed on them!

We have those, too. I know there are different brands. And how will we know which are safe? Just throw them away just in case?

So, what's the alternative? Can anyone crafty make a design and instructions so we can have a wooden rosary for our littles?

I wonder if you can make them out of rope? I have Divine Mercy Chaplet that was made for me out of a very soft cord or rope of some kind. Would there be a way to make the knots extra large? But then what would you do for a crucifix?

How about just a natural wooden one that isn't painted?

I make knotted ones out of twine. Here is the link to the twine. On that page on the left hand side are instructions for the Rosaries. I even make the knotted Crosses. The instructions for them are also on the left. It is the #36 twine that they recommend for them. I would think that they are safe for little ones. The twine is made here in the US.

I went to Michael's today and saw unfinished wooden beads that could easily be used for making a rosary. Still pondering the cross. Now, how to find safe stains or paints?

I make those knotted rosaries, too, Beth. The twine is pretty, but there's something about the beads that the babies love, isn't there? I was thinking I could use the twine knots and bead combo.

That rosary looks suspiciously like one my daughter used to have -- until my niece broke it. Looks like there was a guardian angel involved...
