I posted a comment on Elizabeth's blog that I would do the apple carnival, but I know someone else was wanting to do it also. . .can't remember who. 
It was supposed to be today I'm so sorry.
I would really like this to happen whether I host it or someone else does it.
I would be willing to put it together this week and then have it up on Friday (19th) afternoon.
If someone has already hosted it, let me know.

I have no idea -- but Dawn posted in "the favorite apple" thread that Kristie was going to host it today.

I had let Elizabeth know that I would host it, but then didn't hear anything back. In my probably too relaxed way, I figured that she had had a bunch of responses and didn't need me.
It wasn't until late last night, when I was emailed a post, that I realised I was to be hosting it.
Help.... I have recieved one post, but I am unsure whether I should be accessing other posts in another place....
Actually, seeing as I am very new to this, and that it is already Monday (and today has been one of those down days), it might be better if you could host it this time Sarah.
So sorry about the misunderstanding

Sorry I didn't respond. I have a 4 mo old baby with a cold who just cries and won't nurse.
I'll try to get it done on Friday and have it up Friday evening or Sat, depending on my sick baby. I'll have to see how he is doing. . .

sarah, I sure hope your little guy is feeling better soon. those first colds are no fun while nursing!
and, Kristie and Sarah, it would not be the end of the world not to have an apple carnival to read!  Family first!!

I'm going to give this to you. My baby has been up for 2 nights now, cannot be put down, and is not nursing well. I feel a sore breast coming on and fear mastitis is in my near future.
Its just not what I'm supposed to do right now. . .

Ladies, remember that apples have a LONG season ... getting the apple carnival up in a week or so isn't going to upset any folks (and we just may have a blog post on apple-dolls for you by then .....)

Well, I could host it next Tuesday!! That would give enough time I think.....
Could anyone give me a sort of 'hosting a carnival' 101.
-I know I should ask for posts here...I have recieved one via pm but I know there is a way to recieve them on my blog as well.
-I will draft up an intro etc. for the fair and have it ready , and will link up the posts from other blogs as they come in, along with any comments and such.
I am sure I am missing alot... anyone got a few minutes to fill me in on what I am sure are many missing steps?
This should be fun..... we love apples here, and it has cooled off so much I have been in full steam ahead baking mode

Hi Kristie,
To gather posts, you can ask for them here, via PM or people can post links here in this thread. You could write a short post at your blog announcing the carnival and give people your email address (spelling out "at" and "dot" for security reasons) so they can send you posts. And/or you could ask them to leave you a link in the comments box.
Let people know when you'd like the posts by (I usually do the day before, but sometimes it's nice to give yourself more time than that). It's good to have an intro. in mind and then once your links come in you can organize them as you wish.
I hope that helps a bit. If you have any other carnival questions, don't hesitate to ask!
Oh, and I have three apple posts for you  and you can use one or all three!

Can someone help me with one of the links for the fair?? Barbara linked in the comments of my blog (below) and for some reason her link didn't work. So I went to her blog and I copied the link from there and tried to link it under her name on my learning notes blog but still couldn't get it to work
Any ideas.....
