Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Still looking for the magic answer to help my ds get control of his behavior (I know, I know, there is not magic answer...I just wish there was!). I'm wondering if anyone has used the Feingold diet and/or has opinions, comments, experiences...
Thanks!

I researched this diet thought it was so overwelming but did get rid of the food coloring and that was all it took. The change in my son was dramatic. He feels so much better it has been 3 years and he won't touch the coloring though he has had some blue without problems..there is blue coloring in marshmellows.?! Annie

Becky, here's a thread from a while back. I also have a Feingold index at my blog.

Hope that helps a bit.

Thanks so much Dawn! I should have done a search. That thread and your index are very helpful.

We tried Feingold with my ds 7. Artificial colours and flavours especially vanillin are his triggers. Yesterday dh let him have a homemade cookie after Mass during coffee. I'm not sure but I suspect it contained artifical vanilla. We are definitely 'paying' for it today and will probably for the next few days. It is literally like a drug to him and he just goes and goes and goes....... and can get quite destructive.

We started Feingold last spring for our then 15 month olds behavior. He's now 2 and is also gf/cf. The whole family ended up benefiting from the feingold plan. We all are on it-(except when the teens go to soccer and scouting events). My DH was very cautious at first but has now become completely supportive and has even happily increased our grocery budget. Although my youngest receives OT twice weekly for SPD- when he goes off his diet I notice faster than if we skip OT. It has also helped our 8 year old with bed wetting- our 11 year old is off his seizure meds, our 13 year old has fewer angry outbursts, and I am a much happier Mom. PM me if you need suggestions at getting started...

I will Jen! It seems rather overwhelming.
