Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

We're leaving for the beach tomorrow and I'm looking for good chapter books on CD for my kids. (5.5 girl, 3.5 boy and 2yr old boy). They listen to Little House on the Prairie all the time--but I'm looking for something different. Any suggestions?

Melissa, Hank the Cowdog is hysterical! But I don't know if you could find it on short notice. Unless you want to make a quick stop off of 95 on your way south.

We listen to a lot of Jim Weiss. He has numerous shorter CDs that appeal to the younger crowd. I find their attention seems to drift when we try to listen to something longer.

Thank you Molly! I found "Rascal" read by Weiss and "The Original Adventures of Hank the Cowdog" at my local library--so we'll pick those up. Have you read/heard Rascal? Is that a good one for littles?

Peter Rabbit and a few other titles that may be good for little ones can be found on Amazon.

Two titles, for slightly older children, that we have enjoyed listening to this summer are Snow Treasure and Hans Brinker. Both of these Audio titles are from Recorded Books. I have not checked, but they might have some interesting for younger children.

We listened to My Father's Dragon--there are 3, when we drove to MT in June. We got it from the library. It was fun and not too long or complicated. Both kids loved it!
