Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Today we spent a wonderful day at the shrine. I posted here
about our day. It is such a holy and blessed place.

One of the ladies who was working in the museum is a homeschooler and wants to have a home school conference on the grounds next August. It sounds like it would be a great event.

How wonderful that it might be the grounds for a homeschooling conference!

Joann,

We live about 30-40 minutes away from both! (I think I know who was working in the museum, as she's a member of our homeschool group, but I wasn't aware of anything in the works for a homeschool conference. I'll have to ask! )

Our homeschool group often meets at both shrines. The shrine at Auriesville is so beautiful in the summer time.

We visited that shrine back when Thomas was a baby -- taking Joe and Cate to a wonderful CYO camp in New Hampshire .... what a wonderful trip that was! And the shrine was our haven after a tremendous summer storm that had us all a bit shaken!
