At a dr's appointment this week, I picked up this handy tip:
Anything that comes in a tube- lotion, sunscreen, diaper ointment- can last even longer if you cut the tube open when you think it's empty. I was skeptical, but today I tried this with a tube of sunscreen that I was sure I'd taken as far as it could go. The doctor had told me there would be a ton left inside, but I was absolutely shocked how much was still in there.
I am definitely cutting all tubes open from now on! (and my kids thought it was so cool to see inside the tube).

That is a good tip! How do you keep all that "bonus" stuff from getting everywhere once the tube is cut open? Or is there just enough to use in one application?
Here's another tip I learned in the last week:
Cherry juice stains can be removed by pouring boiling water on them. I thought boiling water would set them but I had the opportunity to try this trick and the stains disappeared like magic.

Do you think this would work for raspberry/blackberry stains?

I just cut a line down the center of the tube- it can lie on its side with the cut part up. There was enough sunscreen in there for probably 3-4-5 more trips to the pool for the three of us. I was really amazed. The tube felt empty.

Another tip...boiling water pourd directly on a poison ivy plant is the best way to kill it! It will not grow back
This is fun, I cannot wait to hear more ideas!

To get all that gook/burned stuff/food off your !drip pans for your stove....Place in a large covered container with 1/4 cup of straight Amnonia over night. In the morning, all that stuff comes off much easier!

YES! I use this method for all fruit stains. Just don't wait too long before taking action. I always try to do the boiling water trick within an hour of getting a stain.
I have even used this method on wool! very carefully!

Great tips! I would probably put the cut-open tube of sunscreen in a zip top bag so I could take it to the pool or wherever without a mess.
As for pouring boiling water on poison ivy, I sure wish I'd known that before I spent $16 on weed killer!

I concur on the fruit and berry stains. Rolling, boiling water will wash them away immediately without damaging the fabric. I've been doing this for years!
Fabulous tube tip!
