was seperated from dh for a couple of weeks, but got to visit with family and friends.
now we are all back together here in San Juan. what a busy city! it reminds me of Mexico a bit, with the colors and style of life.

we drove through old san juan and wow what a lot of history there! most of the streets are paved with what looks like bricks, but are really ballast weights from old ships/scooners/etc that came here long ago. the old buildings and forts are amazing from the outside, I can't wait to go exploring them on the inside.

we got to look at our housing area. and I like the look much better in person than on the internet, lol. met a couple of neighbors.

we are in a hotel for a while until guest housing opens up. but we got a decent hotel, with a huge pool complete with an island in the middle, lol, which the kids love! we also get free breakfast, which is easy on the pocket book.

dh is already working (was for a week before we got here) so we get to hang out during the day an play vacation! yippee! but man is the sun hot down here, I got burned today at the pool and we weren't even there very long.

It sounds lovely! I was born there, at the old Ramey AFB. My sister visited a few years ago and said the base is still there, but in bad shape. She was old enough when we were there to have memories of it, but left when I was 18 mos. old.

What takes you there? I thought all bases were closed now. Hope you enjoy all the exploring. How long will you be there?
