Regal Cinemas always have free movies in the summer on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings. I usually try to get the kids to a couple.
There are a bunch of movies this year I haven't heard of and Screen-it doesn't have reviews for. I am hoping someone can help. They are all either G or PG.
Hoodwinked
Everyone's Hero
How to Eat Fried Worms (probably would skip this anyway!)
Happily Ever After
Happy Feet
Trumpet of the Swan
Thanks for your help!

We thought Hoodwinked was really fun. You can read one review here.
I had no idea there was a Trumpet of the Swan movie! We are reading that right now. I would love to hear a review of this one.

Have you checked Common Sense Media? They have very detailed write-ups of the problematic parts of movies, and they include more films than most other rating websites I've used.

We've seen an animated version of Trumpet of the Swan from the library. If it's the same one it's a little corny but cute. Nothing harmful in it.
My friend took her kids to see Happy Feet. She told me not to waste my time, that there was a definite "agenda". While the music is lots of fun, the overall message isn't so great.
I haven't seen any of the others though.

Everyone's Hero has bad attitude talk in it. I only "heard" parts of the movie. My husband watched it with the children.
I'm surprised Screen-It didn't review it.

Thank you Mary! I have been wracking my brain to remember the name of the Kids in Mind website, I had liked their reviews, but lost their address in my favorites. I've been looking for good movie review sites lately, we like to get movies from the library, but I like to knoe if they are worth our time. I like to get them on hold online ahead of time, because our local library has no separate divisions for the videos and you have to wade through all the trash to find the decent ones.

My favorite review site is Decent Films. He doesn't review every single movie but usually I find out what I want for the family. He always gives good info, worthy opinions, and something to think about.

If Everyone's Hero is the animated (actually, the kind that is between animated and real, like polar express) story about the kid who stinks at baseball and ends up a hero, we watched it and the story was cute but I believe there was some language I didn't like.
Happy Feet I would pass on - lots of stuff in appropriate for kids IMO
Did you mean "Happily Never After" instead? I would also skip that - language as well as just not that interesting - a spoof of fairy tales, with a rather butch looking Cinderella.
If you're wondering why we've watched all these terrible movies, we've fallen into a habit of having Family Movie night weekly and dh has picked out a few (OK more than a few ) I didn't care for. it is very hard to find quality movies at local Blockbuster, so we try to get older ones online but even that doesn't always work out. However, we just finished watching Anne of Green Gables, the sequel and all loved it, as well as the first
