Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I've got a pile of old magazines I need to weed through, but need your opinions; when I subscribed to these a while back, I wasn't aware that there are so many differences in Catholic thought. Are any of these problematic/against the Magisterium?

The Latin Mass (A Journal of Catholic Culture)
This Rock
Crisis

Thanks for your advice!

I don't think any of those are problematic, IMHO. I've subscribed to all those at one time or the other. My only problem was keeping up with the thought-provoking articles. I've given up!

Thanks, JoAnna! It's not that big of a pile but I do have to get rid of some of them. I think I'll keep This Rock, and donate the others.

If you're trying to decide which to throw and which to keep, you might consider that both This Rock and Crisis have free online archives. (I'm not sure about Latin Mass, as I'm not that familiar with it.) Anyway, we tossed (actually, donated to our parish library) our old issues and just use their archives when we're looking for a particular past article or in the mood to browse.

Hope that helps!

For magazines such as those, we have donated or passed them onto friends. Any issue that seemed a "keeper" was held onto for a given time; in the end I don't think any issue stayed a keeper.
