Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

We'll be traveling to WI for a family reunion in August. It looks likely that I'll be traveling with the 3 kids on my own, and DH will follow later.

I chose to save almost $400 by choosing a connecting flight instead of a direct flight -- adding about 3 hours & a layover onto our travel time. (ouch!)

Both boys have backpacks of their own, and I plan on filling them with some new things to keep them occupied.

What are some things you would bring on the flight to keep them occupied? They're 5 & 6 years old.

The infant is easy (I hope!) but I need something to help pass the time for the boys.

Here's things we've done:
-Hidden picture books
-Maze books
-travel size magna doodle
-bag of cowboys/indians or pirates, etc from dollar store
-tanagram set-works best if you have a shallow small tray-I found one at dollar store
-LOTS of snacks

My son got a Leapster for his 6th b-day and that has been THE BEST travel item! He stil uses it a ton over 2 yrs later. He's used it on planes, cars, and trains.

We just got back from a 10-day trip, and never have I been so glad to have a laptop computer. My 2 oldest kids (6 and 7) watched dvd's and played computer games on the plane the entire 5 hours. The two little ones napped and looked at books.

I just took my four by myself on an airplane and packed the backpacks with books, coloring items (color wonder is awesome!!!), a Leapster with headphones, one new toy each, stickers, and playing cards.

The Leapster kept them busy. I also brought our Signing Time CDs with a portable CD player. This kept my littlest one happy.
