Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Hi,

I'm very happy to have found this forum. My husband and I live with our 5 children in beautiful NE Tennessee. We have always homeschooled although with 2 of our 5 having special needs it is often a bumpy road. I've been feeling rather overwhelmed lately and very much alone in the homeschooling with special needs area.

My eldest son, PJ, (born to us) is turning 17 in December. He has Down Syndrome. No health problems, but he is not the calm /placid child that doctors said he'd be. Our our next child a wonderful daughter Clare Jian-Cui (10 in August) who came to us at 9 1/2 months old via adoption from Anhui Provience PRChina has Asperger's and a recently officially diagnosed math learning disability. Then there is our "too smart" son, Thomas Thanh-Ha who came to us at 7 months old from Bac Giang, Vietnam. Just to keep things interesting we have a "surprise daughter" Lia Grace who is 7 years old. Since I traveled to bring home Jian, my husband was going to do the traveling to bring home Thanh. We figured out why I felt so strange just about 3 weeks before he was leaving. Things began to settle down a few years ago, Lia kept asking for a baby and there was an extra seat in the van......Our youngest is John Le Si- a fun little guy that joined our family at 23 months old from Jiangsu Provience, PRChina.

Well, that's my introduction. I am looking forward to posting to the special blessing part of this forum.

Peace, Cathy

Welcome, Cathy!

What a neat story of how your family has grown! I can't imagine the excitement and surprise of adopting and finding out you're expecting at just the same time.

I know you'll find lots of support here for your homeschooling.

Again, Welcome!
