Anyone game?
We need a housesitter for all or part of approx 6 weeks this summer, mid-june through early august. I'd like to offer it to a 4Real family because I know how expensive traveling with children can be.
You'd get free lodging in a lovely country, kid-friendly home with access to a large field and creek (with trout! bring your poles!). Very quiet setting. Great location:30 minutes to Great Smoky Mountains National Park, the Blue Ridge Parkway, Pisgah National Forest. 20 minutes to Cherokee Indian Reservation, a couple of hours to Gatlinburg, TN and
15 minutes to lovely little St. Mary's Catholic Church in Sylva, NC.
The home is 4 bedrooms with:
Master bedroom has queen bed, crib, and a port-a-crib.
Bedroom 2 has bunk beds.
Bedroom 3 has toddler bed
Bedroom 4 has twin bed.
Lots of floor space to pile in kids in sleeping bags!
All you'd have to do is be willing to feed our 2 kid-friendly dogs and 2 kid-friendly cats. Oh, and feed the fish.
So, how's about a trip to the Appalachians this summer?
ETA:OK. I am going to sweeten the deal a little more:
I will leave set up a whole bunch of nature-related activities for your children to do while they are here, to occupy their down time.
I'll set up Montessori activities for the littles, plus coloring pages, art/craft kits, well-stocked nature collecting bags (with mini-journals, bug boxes, magnifying glasses, colored pencils, and much more),nature-themed books at all levels, games and other fun stuff. Think of it as a free little nature camp that your kids can enjoy while Mom and dad get some relaxation time.

Well, if I have to put my house on the market I would love to take you up on it. I don't know if the timing would work out, but wow, that would be something if it did! Putting it in God's hands.

Kelly, St. Mary's has mass daily, I think. I'll check on that.
Molly, that would be great!
Oh, and don't forget that by having a kitchen to use, you will save money by not eating out as much.
