Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I know quite a few of you subscribe. I have been putting it off as long as I can, but am getting frustrated with the library DVDs. They all seem to stop a few times, or skip or have some technical difficulties. Maybe they are dirty. We don't have as many problems with the ones we own. Does Netflix clean theirs when they get them back? Has anyone had these types of issues with them? I am opting back to good old VHS for this issue--but will need to get DVDs for the newer stuff.
Thanks,
Anne

hmm, we've had a few NetFlix movies that we had to rub clean a bit or that didn't work, but over a period of 2 years (I think?) it doesn't happen nearly as often as it did at the local movie rental places or the library and they have a much larger selection. I would say 90% of the time we have no issues and have liked the service.

We also like the service. However, I have had skipping/stopping problems. Often, cleaning with window cleaner takes care of it, but not always. I think DVDs are just like that.

I found their new "recommendations" feature helpful is suggestion movies though, based on other things we've liked.

I don't know about this, but I have to say I finally caved and signed up, we LOVE this. The selection is awesome. Everytime the dc are interested in a subject I can order up something really educational. And for myself I love the A&E movies. Even I can remember to return the movies (unlike the library) and no late fees.

We're VERY happy with Netflix. I like to spend a big chunk of time placing movie titles into our three accounts (1 for Devin's History, 1 for the boys, and 1 for me/entertainment,) then I just sit back and let them arrive...ahhhh.

Love,

I agree that it's a great service. We've been really happy with it. We have the 2 movie at a time deal with a kids list and adult list.
I can't ever remember a movie skipping/problems though it probably has.

We've been doing Netflix for about 6 months and I haven't had a single cd skip or anything.

I think the service is absolutely amazing!

I rarely have a Netflix dvd skip. If it's because it's damaged I go to "report problem" on the website. They will mail out another copy of that title that day without waiting for the current one to be returned.

I really am please with their customer service.

Wow! We've had Netflix off and on (mostly on) for 5 years and I didn't know that!
We haven't had too many movies that are unwatchable, but it is annoying! We've moved up our acct to 4 out at a time, so we're not bummed out with no movie to watch when we do finally sit down to relax.
Netflix usually has 2 week trials, but right now they're offering 4 week trials, if you go through a member. We just got an email about it yesterday. I don't receive anything if you go through me, but PM me if you want to have a trial before having to pay!

Do you have three separate accounts, meaning you pay for three different accounts or do you have three different queues? could you share what you have in Devin's history account? I am always looking for movies to supplement our history?

Noreen (and others)
When you go to Netflix click Queue.
Under "Movies you Have Out" click Report Shipping Problem.
Then on the next screen you can click Report Problem for a specific movie.

We love Netflix too! We've been members for about six months and never received a scratched DVD.

BTW we just rented Padre Pio: Miracle Man. What a amazing movie!

No, we have 3 at a time. You get to make a selection list (queues) of what movies you want them to send you and in what order. You can make one list for the family or you can make up to 3 lists for different people and get 1 from the top of each list. So there's always a movie comming that dad likes, something educational, and a family movie for example.

We've really enjoyed bumping up to 3 movies at a time. We don't watch much, but this way there's always something for us either here or on the way. Less than that seemed like we were forever waiting on a movie.

We get 5 at a time and have rarely had an issue. We did have the wrong movie show up in the right jacket once, but we just sent it back. Their customer service is the best. Once we had three DVD's stolen out of our mailbox and I was concerned that I was going to have to pay for them. Their response was basically, "no problem" and that was that!

THanks for all the positive feedback. While the Library Express box is a 5 minute drive down the road--we HAD been driving the 20-30 minutes TOO the library til I noticed the Library Express box a few weeks ago. I still have to get in the car    But it is easier when our 1 week time is up than HAVING to go to the library just to dump the video. Dropping it in the mailbox sounds like heaven--and no skips or other issues, ahhhhh!!!
I may have to talk to dh about this--since we have no cable or anything and are just starting to watch more videos. I am trying to get over the guilt. Though if I get to choose--they don't just turn on the TV, I feel a little better.
THanks everyone!!

Three different queues. If I get a chance this weekend, I'll see if I can copy and paste some of the movies. I believe that I got my history movie ideas from Teach with the Movies then found them at Netflix. I also have friends who have used Catholic catalogs to find movie titles, finding many of them available at Netflix.

Love,
